Amish cutting the grain , and bundling it into a bunch, tied with a twine is called sheaves. Then the sheave bundles are placed by hand in a pyramid style called Stooks, or Shocks , as well as a few other names depending on what area you are from, for drying.
A week or so later depending on the weather, the piles are gathered up and taken into the barn for trashing of the grain, sometimes thrashed outside.
